This group has been carrying on the legacy of the most dynamic bandleader, bassist, and composer in the history of jazz – Charles Mingus – for more than three decades. New generations of musicians continue to interpret and build upon his work, regularly tackling with fiery panache the more than 300 compositions left behind by the prolific jazz great, including Better Git It in Your Soul, Haitian Fight Song and Pithecanthropus Erectus.
