Ensembles made up of big names put together at random rarely produce artistically valid results, precisely because the practice is that they are based on marketing strategies that define them as “exciting”, “unique” and even “pioneering” – when in reality they don’t grant anything more than ephemeral success.
Despite this, there is still room for miracles, as demonstrated by the collaboration between three of the most melodically inclined musicians of the entire European jazz scene.
Should we consider the encounter between Paolo Fresu from Sardinia, Richard Galliano, who grew up in the south of France but is of Italian origins, and Jan Lundgren, of Swedish origins, a coincidence? Certainly not, and in the spirit of an unusual and in some ways courageous line-up, the three have undergone a spontaneous growth.
